'07 Dodge Caliber

The 2007 Dodge Caliber, which went up against such cars as the jolly little Neon when it came out, opted for power over perkiness, a fact which consumers can see best when they look under the car’s hood.

The 2007 Caliber only comes in a five door model, but buyers have their choice of three different engines, two different transmission, as well as the option for either front wheel drive or all wheel drive.

All three engines are universally praised as being surprisingly smooth and powerful. The standard engine for the 2007 Caliber is a 1.8 liter four that makes one hundred and forty eight horsepower. It is connected with a five speed. Or buyers can choose between a 2.0 liter version of the same engine and a 2.4 liter engine.

For practically all 2007 Dodge Caliber engines provide for a powerful, smooth ride. Furthermore, they can carry a lot of weight without getting buzzy.

Both critics and drivers alike hail the 2008 Dodge Caliber for its handling. Most find that the entirety of the 2008 Caliber is significantly improved over its predecessor, which was a little too much like a beefed up and bulkier version of the Neon for some people’s tastes.

The limited suspension travel really works for driving on any kind of surface, and the 2008 Dodge Caliber’s traction control is second to none. As the engineers promised, the traction control works far better than conventional limited slippage traction controls.

The 2008 Caliber really shines on public roads. Even on bumpy roads and uneven pavement, its grip promotes confidence within the driver. It has sports car steering and responds very quickly during quick transitions. This is a great surprise, because the 2008 Dodge Caliber has a higher center of gravity than its predecessors. This model responds very well in hard cornering, further inspiring confidence.
