'07 Dodge Caliber

The 2007 Dodge Caliber, which went up against such cars as the jolly little Neon when it came out, opted for power over perkiness, a fact which consumers can see best when they look under the car’s hood.

The 2007 Caliber only comes in a five door model, but buyers have their choice of three different engines, two different transmission, as well as the option for either front wheel drive or all wheel drive.

All three engines are universally praised as being surprisingly smooth and powerful. The standard engine for the 2007 Caliber is a 1.8 liter four that makes one hundred and forty eight horsepower. It is connected with a five speed. Or buyers can choose between a 2.0 liter version of the same engine and a 2.4 liter engine.

For practically all 2007 Dodge Caliber engines provide for a powerful, smooth ride. Furthermore, they can carry a lot of weight without getting buzzy.

2007 Dodge Caliber

This year marks the introduction of the 2007 Dodge Caliber replacing the Neon brand on the heavily-modified version of the GS platform. The Caliber for 2007 comes in four packages, SE, SXT, R/T and the powerful SRT-4 performance-tuned Caliber.

The SE version is a bare-bones base model with lacking features, coming with either a 1.8L Inline-4 producing 148HP and a 5-speed manual transmission or the optional 2.0L Inline-4 with 148HP coupled to a CVT2 Transmission.

The SXT model comes with all the basic equipment such as a tachometer and air conditioning standard, while providing upgraded accessories like 17” steel wheels with optional aluminum 17” wheels sitting on a 103” wheel-base.

Extra features such as illuminated front-cup holds, extra holders in the rear, extra power outlet and adjustable seats are only found on the 2007 Dodge Caliber SXT and higher-end models.
